AlphaSteel Ingredients: Seven Actives, Every Milligram on the Label

Quick answer

AlphaSteel names seven actives and prints a milligram figure for each, per two-capsule serving: saw palmetto berry, wild yam root, sarsaparilla root, nettle leaf and boron chelate at 20 mg apiece, tongkat ali at 10 mg of a 100:1 extract and horny goat weed at 8 mg of a 10:1 extract. No caffeine or other stimulant is on the panel.

Below: each active, the extract ratios, the research amounts and the capsule itself.

The formula

The seven AlphaSteel actives, in panel order

Each card carries the amount exactly as the Supplement Facts panel prints it for one serving of two capsules, the part of the plant it comes from, and one line on why it is in a men’s formula.

Saw palmetto

Serenoa repens, berry

20mg

A palm-berry extract, studied mostly for urinary symptoms in older men.

The berry of the American dwarf palm, long used in men’s formulas. A safety review of 40 reports found its side effects mild and similar to placebo.

Wild yam

Dioscorea villosa, root

20mg

A root extract carrying diosgenin, a plant steroid-like compound.

Dioscorea villosa root carries diosgenin, a plant steroidal saponin, which is why it turns up in hormone-balance formulas.

Root extractZava 1998

Sarsaparilla

Smilax glabra, root

20mg

A traditional root tonic with a long history and a short clinical record.

Smilax glabra, the Chinese sarsaparilla root, has a long record in traditional Chinese medicine that two recent reviews catalogue.

Nettle leaf

Urtica dioica, leaf

20mg

Stinging-nettle LEAF, not the root most prostate studies use.

Urtica dioica, printed with its plant part. Naming the part lets a reader match the ingredient to the research on that same part of the plant.

Boron

amino acid chelate

20mg

A trace mineral, printed as the weight of its amino acid chelate.

A trace mineral. In eight healthy men, a week of daily boron raised free testosterone and lowered estradiol in blood samples.

Tongkat ali

Eurycoma longifolia, root

10mg

The headline root, and the most concentrated extract on the panel.

From 100:1 extract, equivalent to approximately 1000mg of dry Tongkat Ali powder. A 2022 meta-analysis of five randomised trials found higher total testosterone in men taking Eurycoma longifolia extracts.

Horny goat weed

Epimedium sagittatum, herb

8mg

The icariin herb: a PDE5 finding in the lab and a heart-rhythm case report.

From 10:1 extract, equivalent to approximately 80mg of dry Horny Goat Weed powder. Known for icariin; single doses of a standardised extract were well tolerated in 30 healthy men.

In numbers

AlphaSteel ingredients at a glance

Two capsules deliver all seven: 30 servings to a 60-capsule bottle, so one bottle is a month of the full formula.

What the art shows

Inside AlphaSteel: the listing art beside the label

Inside AlphaSteel listing art: the bottle and red capsules circled by saw palmetto, sarsaparilla, nettle, boron, wild yam, tongkat ali and horny goat weed
All seven names, and no amounts. The vendor’s listing card names every active around the bottle. The milligrams live on the panel, further down this page.

The same seven, in both places

The seller’s listing art and the printed panel agree on the formula. Every name drawn around the bottle is a row on the AlphaSteel Supplement Facts panel, and every row on the panel appears in the art, so a buyer never has to reconcile two different ingredient lists.

Read the art for the names and the panel for the numbers. The capsules in the picture are drawn red to match the label.

  • Nettle leaf and boron: a leaf extract and a trace mineral
  • Tongkat ali and horny goat weed: the two concentrated extracts
Extract ratios

How to read the two AlphaSteel extract ratios

100:1 tongkat ali

One milligram of this extract stands for about 100 mg of dried root. That is how the label turns 10 mg into “approximately 1000mg of dry Tongkat Ali powder”. It is a statement about the raw material that went in.

10:1 horny goat weed

One milligram stands for about 10 mg of dried herb, so 8 mg becomes “approximately 80mg of dry Horny Goat Weed powder”. Epimedium is valued for its prenylflavonoids, of which icariin is the best known.

What a ratio cannot tell you

How much of a plant’s active compounds survived extraction. Two 100:1 extracts made by different methods can differ, so the extract weight is the fair number to compare with research.

The comparison that holds up

The tongkat ali trials in men used standardised root water extracts and reported the extract weight taken each day. That makes the 10 mg figure, not the dry-root equivalent, the one to set beside them, and the dose analysis on this page does exactly that.

Dose analysis

AlphaSteel amounts beside the research amounts

Five of the seven actives sit at 20 mg each, against research amounts that run into the hundreds of milligrams. Here is every row, side by side.

What published studies used, beside what the AlphaSteel label prints per serving
IngredientWhat studies usedWhat the AlphaSteel label prints
Tongkat ali100 to 400 mg a day of a standardised root water extract, for 5 to 12 weeks (Henkel 2014; Ismail 2012; Chinnappan 2021)10 mg of a 100:1 extract, which the label equates to about 1,000 mg of dry root
Horny goat weedSingle doses of 370, 740 and 1,110 mg of a standardised Epimedium extract in a safety and absorption study of 30 healthy men (Teo 2019)8 mg of a 10:1 extract, which the label equates to about 80 mg of dry herb
Saw palmetto320 mg a day of berry extract for a year (Bent 2006), and up to 960 mg a day for 72 weeks (Barry 2011), in men with urinary symptoms20 mg of berry extract
NettleThe prostate research is on nettle ROOT (Chrubasik 2007); the one controlled trial of a freeze-dried nettle preparation found here ran for one week, in hay fever (Mittman 1990)20 mg of leaf extract
Wild yamThe one controlled trial found applied a wild yam cream to the skin for 3 months in menopausal women (Komesaroff 2001)20 mg of root extract, taken by mouth
SarsaparillaNo controlled trial of the root extract in men was found; the reviews cover traditional use and laboratory work (Wu 2022)20 mg of root extract
Boron10 mg of elemental boron a day for one week in eight healthy men (Naghii 2011); the adult upper intake level is 20 mg of boron a day (NIH ODS)20 mg of boron amino acid chelate, the weight of the chelate rather than of the boron in it

Research figures come from each paper’s own abstract, re-read on 22 September 2026: Henkel 2014, Ismail 2012, Chinnappan 2021, Teo 2019, Bent 2006, Barry 2011, Chrubasik 2007, Mittman 1990, Komesaroff 2001, Wu 2022, Naghii 2011, NIH ODS. Label figures are the panel’s. The two columns are different kinds of fact and are never added together.

Boron is weighed as the chelate

“Boron Amino Acid Chelate 20 mg” is the weight of the whole compound. The boron inside it is a fraction of 20 mg, and the panel gives no elemental figure. Either way it sits under the adult upper intake level for boron set by the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, which is counted as elemental boron.

Nettle is the leaf; the men’s research is on the root

The prostate research on stinging nettle is on the root, as the Chrubasik 2007 review sets out. AlphaSteel uses a leaf extract, so that body of work describes a different part of the plant.

What the table means for a buyer
  • A broad, low-dose blend. Most of the seven sit well below the amounts single-ingredient studies used. The formula reads as a daily men’s blend led by tongkat ali, not as seven research doses in one capsule.
  • Tongkat ali is the ingredient to judge it by. It is the lead, it is the most concentrated, and its trials in men measured the things the label claims.
  • No trial has tested the finished product. What is known about AlphaSteel is known ingredient by ingredient.
Styling versus formula

What is, and is not, in the AlphaSteel formula

The AlphaSteel bottle on white among ginseng-style roots, a sliced beetroot, grapes, cinnamon sticks and a spiked seed pod
The props are styling. None of the ginseng-style roots, a sliced beetroot, grapes, cinnamon sticks and a spiked seed pod is on the panel. The seven rows of the panel are the formula.

A scene, not a recipe

The vendor’s hero scene sets the bottle among roots, fruit and spice. It is a mood picture: beetroot, grapes and cinnamon are not AlphaSteel ingredients, and the ginseng-style roots are not labelled as any of the seven. The panel is also worth reading for what it leaves out:

  • No caffeine, guarana, green tea extract or other stimulant
  • No hormone and no drug ingredient
  • No sugar, sweetener or flavouring in the other ingredients
  • Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients, per the label
The label itself

The AlphaSteel Supplement Facts panel and the capsule

The AlphaSteel Supplement Facts panel: serving size 2 capsules, 30 servings, seven actives with their amounts, and the other ingredients line
The panel is the source of every amount on this website. Serving size 2 capsules, 30 servings per container, and a dagger on every row: daily value not established.

Three other ingredients

Below the seven actives the panel lists microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate. Microcrystalline cellulose is a plant-fibre filler that gives the capsule its fill, and magnesium stearate keeps the powder flowing on the machine.

Gelatin is the capsule shell, made from animal collagen, which matters to anyone who avoids animal ingredients. The testing and quality page reads each of the vendor’s marks against this panel.

The panel also carries the statement that the product was made in an FDA registered facility. Registration is a listing with the agency, not an approval of the product.

Questions

AlphaSteel questions and answers

What are the ingredients in AlphaSteel?

Seven actives per two-capsule serving: saw palmetto berry extract 20 mg, wild yam root extract 20 mg, sarsaparilla root extract 20 mg, nettle leaf extract 20 mg, boron amino acid chelate 20 mg, tongkat ali 10 mg of a 100:1 extract and horny goat weed 8 mg of a 10:1 extract. The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate.

Is the AlphaSteel tongkat ali really equal to 1,000 mg?

The label says the 10 mg comes from a 100:1 extract, equivalent to approximately 1,000 mg of dry tongkat ali powder. That describes how much dried root went into the extract. The trials measured extract weight, so 10 mg is the figure to compare with them.

Does AlphaSteel contain caffeine or a stimulant?

No. The panel lists no caffeine, no guarana, no synephrine and no other stimulant. The energy claim on the label rests on the botanicals and the mineral, taken daily.

Which AlphaSteel ingredient leads the formula?

Tongkat ali. It is the most concentrated extract on the panel (100:1), and its energy and vitality research in men includes a 2022 meta-analysis of five randomised trials. Horny goat weed is the second concentrated extract; the other five round out a broad men’s blend.

Are the AlphaSteel amounts the same in every bottle?

The panel is the formula, so read it on the bottle you receive. The current lot is ALP-26/AL-7266, and if a panel ever differs from this one, the bottle in your hand wins.

Who writes this

Who checks the AlphaSteel ingredient pages

Four things a careful reader can check in ten minutes:

  1. The label is the source. The seven names, the milligram figures, the serving, the capsule count and the caution come from the printed AlphaSteel label and its Supplement Facts panel. Prices, shipping lines and the guarantee wording come from the seller’s own order page, read on 22 September 2026.
  2. Research amounts live in a column of their own, headed “What studies used”, beside a column that says what the label prints.
  3. Sources are cited against their own population. A trial in men with urinary symptoms, or a laboratory enzyme study, is described as exactly that.
  4. Corrections change the date. Write to contact@Alphasteeel.com and the review date moves forward.

We earn when you buy. Alphasteeel is the U.S. stocking partner for AlphaSteel and this website makes money on orders placed through it. That is why the dose comparison, the three-star reviews and the plain statement that AlphaSteel is not a treatment for anything are here: they are where our interest and yours pull apart. Order support on +1 (302) 200-3480 handles tracking, changes and refunds and is never a way to place an order; orders go through the checkout only.
